By HeraclitusI'm a little late with this, but I just thought this image was so amazing, I had to share it with as many people as possible. I think this picture is worth about all the words you could say about what's wrong with our whole little adventure in Iraq. Well, this one and these. This image originates here (and you see it in its original setting, where it's much larger than Blogger apparently can or will make it), on the blog of the phenomenally talented Unapologetic Mexican.

Jorge over at TZ posted a nice update from Chronodeco.TimeZone: Public Forum: New Model – Chronodeco Positano: "Chronodeco is a small American watch company, founded by Craig Bergsma, a metallurgical engineer by trade. His latest creation is the Positano collection of watches that feature NOS movements. His firm also does repair and restoration of vintage chronographs and watches.“In July of 2006, my wife and I visited the town of Positano on the Amalfi Coast in Italy. Somehow the name and the beauty of this town seemed to fit this watch. Positano has remained largely unchanged for decades and was written about by John Steinbeck after he stayed there in 1953. Steinbeck wrote: 'It is a dream place that isn't quite real when you are there and becomes bec[...]

I have received the first negative feedback on my column. I am surprised I didn’t receive it before. The president of the Writers’ Federation of New Brunswick denounced me for writing about the spiraling down of the organization. I am pleased with myself because this didn’t bother me at all. In the past I would have been upset. When I said I would write this column, my son said that at my age I had earned the right to write boldly what I wanted. Only one of the six columns, however, has been negative.I am now polishing a column about the negative impression that the rest of Canada has about New Brunswick and how art contributes to this impression. When we have guests from other parts, they are invariably surprised at what a nice place this is, how bea[...]
