Brits Try to Mix Human and Animal DNA

Blogged From Dan at 05. Apr 2007 04:54 under life issues, technology

There are reasons why we have “ewww” responses. They are not simply products of arcane didacticism. It may be your body, consciously or subconsciously, actually warning you about something. The hybridization of humans and animals proposed by British scientists has a high “ewww” factor for me. Perhaps some of it comes from the multiple [...]

William Azaroff ramps up his blogging

Blogged From Rob at 05. Apr 2007 01:42 under Technology, Vancouver, Blogging, Online Community

Good news for anyone who likes the stuff that Vancity’s been up to online: William Azaroff, their in-house visionary, is shifting his blogging into high gear: I have recently been asked why I don’t give my opinion about web 2.0, social marketing, banking, etc on my blog. Why I limit it to a more frivolous link [...]

Old Man Winter may not be done with us yet...

Blogged From at 04. Apr 2007 23:57

Nestled up here near the Canadian border, we are finally starting to see signs of spring. The snow has all melted. Green is starting to be seen in the grass. Buds are appearing on the trees. Temps have been up in the 50s Fahrenheit. We are seeing our neighbors outside again. All is good.BUT... just to make sure we remember that we are in fact this far North, the weather reports say that we may get 6 inches of snow tonight! (Hopefully not more than that as I already put away the snowblower and shovelling a lot of wet snow is NOT fun!)I guess the good news is that Friday is a holiday, so maybe there is a chance for one last day of skiing! :-)

Microsoft plans new Zune campaign, color

Blogged From at 04. Apr 2007 22:00

No, this isn't the new Zune ad campaign. It was a Seattle retailer's outdoor sign shortly after the music player launched. Microsoft is hoping to recapture some of that initial buzz.Microsoft is preparing a new advertising campaign for the Zune, and a company representative confirmed via e-mail today that it will launch a limited edition, "soft pink" version of the music device in late spring, through standard retail channels. The pink Zune wasn't exactly a secret: Amazon.com has had it available for pre-order for several days.
