I don't know if Austin public access TV is weirder than that in other cities, but do you have anyone like the Reverend Ricky, a baptist minister from Cedar Park with a toilet seat around his neck? But the real gem, one of the truly WEIRD things Austin can claim, has to be "Austin City Lights" which is magnificently, jawdroppingly out of this world. Imagine Jandek if he was a 50-something year old woman who possibly thinks she's the reincarnation of Marilyn Monroe, who has rudimentary keyboard skills, access to clunky Quantel and blue screen technology with an Elvis impersonator or two and her mother thrown in.
