Recently a friend talked me into watching Grey's Anatomy. I started watching and was hooked. To be honest I am surprised at how much I love the show. It is so much better than ER and doesn't do any of the politically correct preaching that ER does. It is deeper and you absolutely adore most of the characters in the show, flaws and all. GG and I were talking awhile back that we were finding it hard to believe that the nerd from Can't Buy Me Love is now supposed to be considered sexy.Yet any woman who has watched Grey's now understands why Patrick Dempsey is called McDreamy. The transformation was a shock since I had seen him in other things like Sweet Home Alabama and wasn't that impressed. It reminds me of how George Clooney was in things like Roseanne[...]

Don't get too excited. It wasn't a whole lot of sewing but I'm really happy at finally getting this done. I had these two fabric bags filled with flax seed and various herbs. The label says there is chamomile, peppermint, spearmint, rosemary, white willow, yellow dock root, cinnamon, valerian root, saw palmetto berry, lemon grass, yaroow, lavender, flaxseed and natural (but unnamed) grain. They can be heated in the microwave and smell heavenly. Almost makes having a headache or backache worthwhile. But the covers had gotten quite dingy, probably from the oils in the herbs...dunno. And, I always thought it would be cool to have a longer one that I could put around my neck and over my shoulders when knitting had made a few knots in that area too *G*.So to[...]

As I wrote here yesterday, I was the guest of the Kerry’s on Wednesday, for the taping of their interview on the Tavis Smiley Show which aired last night on KCET in Los Angeles. I took notes while the show was taping, but had been asked not to blog about the show until it aired. [...]

Over at The House Next Door, Jonathan Potts has a good take on the Sopranos that considers “where the show fits in the pantheon of great mob stories.” This is the time of year where I — without HBO — have to stop reading and talking to Potts and lots of other bloggers or risk of [...]

That's how Oliver Willis says he sees it. (Via Memeorandum.) I say "says" because I don't think Oliver really thinks O'Reilly went insane. I've seen this lefty meme before -- aimed at me last week. Anger = insanity. In this O'Reilly clip, we see a debate where O'Reilly is in his zone. He's outraged about the death of a little girl and illegal immigration is involved. And his interlocutor is Geraldo Rivera, who isn't going to cower and act submissive. He's going to hold his own and he does. O'Reilly knows he can roll out his righteous anger in a grandly theatrical way and he does.It thoroughly serves his purposes. Look at the free promotion we're giving his show.By the same token, Oliver Willis is serving his purposes by saying things like:This is the leading [...]

Dennis Miller on Rosie O'Donnell:But Iger's got a real problem here with Rosie. Because I think Rosie wants to get fired. I don't think she's this paranoid. At the end of the day, I don't think she believes George Bush blew up the World Trade Centers. But I do believe that Barbara Walters owns every back end piece of that show. Barbara might wear gloves up to her forearms. But the fact is she's got sharp elbows right above that. And Rosie has no back end on that show. She needs to get out of that deal. Because with the ratings spike she's brought to "The View", she realizes if she has part ownership in a daytime show she can print money. So she is going increasingly outlandish. I think she's trying to get whacked. So it's all about the money? That's oddly simi[...]

On Wednesday afternoon I spent some time chatting with John Kerry in the Green Room on the set of the Tavis Smiley Show. I wish I could regale my readers with a great interview with the Senator, but I can’t. Instead I have story about the time spent with Kerry that wasn’t all talk of [...]
