Earlier in the week there was news that Chrysler's sales were down 5% for March 2007 as compared to 2006. Then came the news that DamilierChrysler was under increasing pressure from shareholders to sell the division. Then it was revealed that Chrysler was indeed on the block, followed by news of a $4.5 billion offer. Shortly thereafter it was reported that 4300 Chrysler workers accepted buyouts in a voluntary reduction in force. Another report from earlier in the week said that "Toyota's U.S. sales jumped 11.7 percent last month, boosted by record hybrid sales and strong overall car sales, while Ford's sales dropped 9 percent, DaimlerChrysler sank 4.1 percent and General Motors slid 4 percent." Kermit has been having fun with my half-hearted conversion to Judaism. He regularly sends me emails that point out what a rotten Jew I am. I knew I would be a bad Jew as I had no intention of giving up pork, wearing a Yamaha or ever going to Temple.Kermit was curious if I was going to any religious observances this weekend as it is Good Friday, Easter, Passover and God knows what else this weekend. I mentioned that I had the usual weekend planned. Work on the new house Saturday. The LME wants to preview every house in Southwest listed near our proposed sale price so we’re going to look at all 3 of them.
