More and more of us are receiving our email while on the move. Whether you consider it a blessing or a curse, the reality is that Blackberries, Treos and the like are cemented in our culture. So what does that mean for those of us who use email to communicate with our audience. Mark Brownlow [...]

In the last few weeks, thanks to my boss Katherine Fletcher, I’ve had the opportunity to take some really interesting meetings with some new hires to the FH Digital Practice. The Future is Bright; The Future is Digital I hope I’m not giving away the farm when I say that Digital is a big focus for the [...]

Something very weird happened this morning as I was checking my feeds. Something that is both a little scarey and very exciting. Reading a post by VC Fred Wilson on Twitter, my own latest Twitter showed up in the feed. Here’s how the feed looked in my (Bloglines) feed reader: And here’s how it looks on [...]

This is a bit off topic for this blog, but I like the thoroughness of Avinaash’s posts - and it’s Friday - and everyone is entitled to a tangent every now and then. While I am normally well behind the learning curve of his blog, Occam’s Razor; this one seemed to make sense for one [...]

Excerpt: Linden Lab, maker of Second Life, announced via its official blog that it "will not accept any classified ads, place listings, or event listings that appear to relate to simulated casino activity." Previously, residents of the company's virtual world were permitted to advertise in-world casinos. Linden Lab's use of the term "simulated casino activity" is merely a formality in my view, given that the… Tagged: Business Culture Law Marketing Mixed Reality Places Second Life

Mark Brownlow over at email-marketing-reports links us to a practical article by Wendy Roth which provides an eight-point email checklist that might prevent that feeling of doom after hitting the send button. Even Mark, who is an email newsletter veteran, admits to a couple of errors that he himself has made, and suggests that such a [...]

Nestled up here near the Canadian border, we are finally starting to see signs of spring. The snow has all melted. Green is starting to be seen in the grass. Buds are appearing on the trees. Temps have been up in the 50s Fahrenheit. We are seeing our neighbors outside again. All is good.BUT... just to make sure we remember that we are in fact this far North, the weather reports say that we may get 6 inches of snow tonight! (Hopefully not more than that as I already put away the snowblower and shovelling a lot of wet snow is NOT fun!)I guess the good news is that Friday is a holiday, so maybe there is a chance for one last day of skiing! :-)
